Jessa Carlson is a lifelong artist and always wanted to pursue art as a career. It wasn’t until she was introduced to digital arts and animation by her engineering drafting instructor, that it clicked she could continue to pursue her career as an artist and make money.
After earning an Associates in Media Arts and Animation at the Art Institute of Minnesota and a Bachelors of Fine Arts from the Illinois Institute of Art in Chicago, she joined High Voltage Software, the world-class game developer, as an Animator.
Jessa has been growing with the company ever since, and eventually was presented the opportunity to help build the New Orleans, LA studios for High Voltage. Today as the Studio Art Manager, she works with all members of the art team and provides them with the tools they need to be successful. Jessa is the bridge between the different disciplines of game development – the design team and the engineers.
She loves the atmosphere and creativity that New Orleans provides. The city provides instant inspiration for her work, with its many art galleries, history and architecture, as well as the music, festivals and various costumes you see. The atmosphere at High Voltage Software mimics that of the city – it’s a fun atmosphere and everyone has a passion for what they do.
